I suggest creating a new shortcut. First, delete the Internet Explorer icon that is currently on your desktop. Then follow these instructions to add a new icon:

If I were you I will use different browser, I will highly suggest Mozilla Firefox over Google Chrome, there are still compatibility issues with Google chrome and you might encounter same issue with Internet Explore.

try to reinstall it, may be some error appeared due to some issues. You can uninstall it completely from your computer and then reinstall the latest version of it.
