Default Internet and Microsoft Office not showing correct colours?

About a week ago, i got my laptop back after 8 months (Long story), anyway, the problem was the screen but its fixed now, however, now the internet is not showing in the correct colors of the websites, all of them are showing with a white background and blue writing and microsoft office is all grey, and also when i press to shut down my laptop, there is usually three options to choose from (Turn off, Restart and Stand by) but for some reason, stand by is all grayed out and there is no option to press it even though its still there in line with restart and turn off.

I would like very detailed explanations please, i'm not exactly good at computers but i have basic knowledge.
