Default I close Windows Media player, but the song still plays. How can I change this?

AAAH!!
I don't know why the player is doing this...it's never done this until today.

Whenever I play a song or video, everything works fine. Except when I close the program, it doesn't actually get closed. It only get minimized into some little short cut on the bottom left by the start menu (kind of like when you 'close' MSN. You don't actually exit the program).

I tried looking through the tools/options/elsewhere online, but I can't seem to find any information. I am 100% sure it's never done this before! I also tried deleting the little shortcut thing, but that doesn't do anything.

I'm still using Windows Vista by the way.

If anyone has some input on this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!
