I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop that's Windows 7. Just recently I got some of those stupid viruses which I have gotten rid of now. Now when I try to play a video, it doesn't play and instead it asks me to download a missing component.

A new small window opens and it says:
This program requires a missing Windows codec
Check for a solution on the Microsoft website. If a solution is available, there will be steps you can follow to fix the problem.
Then when I click on the link that's labeled "Download required components"
it brings me to this site http://totalcodec.com/
Which doesn't help one bit.
Any advice on what I should do? Should I uninstall the program and reinstall it if there is a free download somewhere online? If so, where can I find this free download of Windows Media Player 12 for Windows 7?
