Default Pc Security?

I have Norton security but have been told it's not so good! I have just downloaded Spybot and it found hundreds of parasites, will this provide all the security i need?
Thanks.

use spywareblaster for added protection; it's free and works well with spybot; it resides in the background so you don't need to configure anything - just update it regularly

spybot is a excellent anti-spyware program and will clean any parasites that your p.c may have ,but dont get confused, many users think that spyware is a virus
you need to have a anti-virus scanner, but your can have as many anti-spyware programs as you wish
with regards to spybot, make sure you update it,and then imunize it to protect from future attacks
if used correctly spybot is the best anti-spyware program avalible, even better than anti-spyware that you pay for
good luck

No, you need antivirus. Spybot is an excellent little program.
AVGfree is free highly recommended.
Norton is crap, I'm speaking from personal experience.
I had norton antivirus and firwall on another computer and for a long time (months) liveupdate would'nt work because a trojan got in. After a search on the internet i eventually found out others had the same problem and norton would'nt could'nt fix it so i went to PCTOOLS.COM
Which i would highly recommend if you dont mind paying for your software.

If you did not buy the Norton Dump IT! Go to CNET.com and download AVG and Antivar AntiVir for free. They compliment each other and can be set to run updates and scans daily at your convenience. If you bought Norton, wait till the subscript expires. Good Luck.

Yes, spybot is a great software, but for full security you need a good firewall (Zone alarm) you can get this for free too, and a good security suite (Mcafee 10 in 1 2007), or a virus scan software (AVG) its also free. Your choice!!
Hope this helped.
