I am working on a web stats tracking script for my site at the moment but I seem to be having a problem collecting direct traffic stats.

I have been comparing the stats my script collects with those of other agents, such as Google Analytics and my Direct traffic is at about 45% whereas on GA it is around 11%.

I must have something wrong with how I am assessing the traffic.

How would you classify a direct traffic hit?

A direct traffic hit is the one which brings traffic to your site when a user directly types the URL in his browsers address bar and not by clicking a link.
