Default Should I put hardware upgrades on my 2005 Dell Dimension 5150 Running Windows 7?

I had this computer since 2005. It originally came with Windows XP Home, 512 MB of RAM, 140 GB HDD, and an ATI graphics card. When I originally got it, I was intending for it to be used for school. Later on, I went into computer gaming and most of my games could not be supported on my hardware. I then upgraded my RAM to 1.5 GB and now got a NVIDIA 8600 GT graphics card. This is my most recent hardware upgrade done about 2 years ago. I upgraded my computer to Windows Vista Ultimate and it ran decent to a certain point. I upgraded to Vista SP2 and my RAM remained at %65 used. Aero desktop worked and games ran OK but could run better. Just a month ago, I installed Windows 7 on this old computer. It solved my ram problem a little bit by staying at %40 used. Once again, I use aero desktop theme and games have slight improvement than Vista. I now only got 40 GB of HDD space left. Once again, it's got 1.5 GB of RAM, NVIDIA 8600 GT graphics and runs Windows 7 Pro. Should I put hardware upgrades on it and what should I put on it?
