Samsung enjoyed a large measure of success with the first-gen Omnia Windows Mobile Smartphone, selling millions of units worldwide. Now the company is hoping for repeat success in round two with the Omnia's successor, creatively named the Omnia II, which will be sold by Verizon Wireless as the SCH-I920.

While a GSM version is on its way, too, the CDMA version of the Samsung Omnia II sports EV-DO Rev A 3G, up to 16GB of onboard memory, a 3.7" AMOLED WVGA touchscreen display, 802.11g Wi-Fi, aGPS, a 5MP camera, a microSDHC card slot, an FM radio, and an onboard accelerometer.
The Omnia II is also capable of recording video 720 x 480 at 30fps -- which is pretty cool if you enjoy shooting video. Samsung's TouchWiz is also being updated to version 2.0. The unit will ship Windows Mobile 6.5 onboard.
