| MP3 Playback Problems: Some Play, Some Don't Many Pocket PC users, particularly those with older Pocket PC 2000 and Pocket PC 2002 handhelds, experience problems with some MP3 audio files when attempting playback on their Pocket PC. For example, if you have ten MP3 files on an SD or CompactFlash memory card, eight of the MP3s will play in Windows Media Player, but two will not. Users often receive error messages when trying to play the trouble MP3 files, such as Windows media player cannot find the file. Bitrate Woes The most common cause of troubled MP3 playback with a Pocket PC is that the MP3 in question is encoded at too high a bitrate. The solution in this case is simply to change the software you are using to playback the MP3 audio files. 原帖地å€: TechSpott - Computer and technology forums http://www.techspott.com//showthread.php?p=1148 Because encoding techniques and codecs - the software "maps" that tell a computer how to turn a song on a CD into an MP3 file that you computer and Pocket PC can read it - have changed over the past few years, those with older Pocket PCs will get more reliable performance from newer audio software. Other Causes Other causes of MP3 playback problem are less frequent, but certainly possible. They include: - MP3 file damage during the transfer process
- Little system memory available at time of playback
- Damaged Audio File
- Handheld-specific hardware or software problems
- SD or CompactFlash damage (if audio is stored on flash memory cards)
