Every so often the network and volume icons on my computer will disappear. It's windows vista I'm using.

To try and fix it I go to the taskbar, right click and select properties. From there, I click the Notification Area tab. In the system icons part there are four boxes, one each for clock, volume, network and power. The clock and power are always ticked, but sometimes the volume and the network ones switch themselves off. Then when I go here to click them back on, the box is disabled, so I can't. Then sometimes I can click one of them on, but not the other.

Is this a glitch or is there something I can do to fix this whenever it happens. It is really annoying...
