Default Windows Vista...Desperate for help.?

Hey, I'm panicking right now, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop, run by Windows Vista. I recently got the Vista Smart Security virus/spy ware and everything has been screwing up. I'm not very computer literate, but I am going to explain everything that can potentionally help and get rid of this problem...

Okay so it has an intel core 2 processor, 4GB of memory, and a 320GB hard drive.

I got the virus, and I considered taking it to Geek Squad, but then the virus just...dissapeared, so when I tried to use the internet (Google Chrome) it wouldn't let me, and told me to select what to use it on. I figured the virus deleted it, so I uninstalled it, and when I went to re-install it, it wouldn't install. It kept giving me the option to run the file or save it. I then went to install FireFox, and got the same results. I tried another browser, and a couple of other things to see what was going on, but found nothing. When I use the internet, it asks what program I want to use to display it, so I select the internet, and that works fine! I can send screen shots of it to you.

On a minor scale:

-The dock and sidebar have vanished, and I don't know where they went (Screenshot)
-Everything I try to run, my computer gives me the "Which program I want to use to run it" Screen. (Screenshots)
-I have my computer set to remember my facebook log in and such, but it doesn't remember anything. Everything I click back to facebook, I have to put my password in again (Not a big deal).

Now a little more major
-This is what worries me the most. My computer can't find iTunes, or any of the songs, or anything what so ever. I plugged my iTouch in to try to force the screen up, but nothing. I can't transfer any of my songs to an external hard drive, because iTunes won't open.

I have thought aboutt doing a system reset on it, but that leaves me with the whole iTunes library problem. Did the Vista Smart Security do anything to my computer that I am unaware of? I refused to interact with it in any way, but I did close the pop up windows when they came up. My virus protection won't come up either (AVG)

Please please please help!
