Default PC won't boot up after running full scan Anti-Virus on Windows XP SP3?

Ran a full scan using my System Mechanic Pro 9.5 Anti-Virus Program on Windows XP SP3 with IE8. After scan was complete it showed that it had found 5 root-kits and quarantined them all. I then closed all running programs and restarted my PC. Unfortunately, it now won't boot up. I'm not getting the blue screen of death, but...did my PC just crash? If so, how do I reinstall Windows XP? I do have my Windows XP disk. Also, how do I get into the bios to change my settings to have my cd drive boot first? I'm NOVICE so I will definitely need step-by-step instructions and information on how-to fix this problem. NOTE: As of now, I'm using my daughter's Windows Vista until I can get my PC up and running again. Thank-You! Sincerely, Bonnie Lou
