Default Yahoo Search Shortcut Keys

On the Yahoo! homepage:

  • The Search Assist window will open just below your search query and offer suggestions for your search.
  • The Up and Down cursor arrow keys allow you to browse through the listed suggestions.
  • Pressing the ENTER key activates your selection and starts the search.

On the Yahoo! Search results page:
  • Positioning the cursor, highlighting the query term, or typing in the search box will automatically open the Search Assist window.
  • The Up and Down cursor arrow key allows you to browse the Search Assist window within the search query suggestion column.
  • The Left and Right cursor arrow keys allow you to move between the search query suggestions column and the "Explore" related concepts column.
  • Pressing the ESC key will return your cursor to the search box.

Web Search only:
  • Control+Shift+Down Arrow moves the focus to the first search result on the page.
  • Control+Shift+Up Arrow brings the focus back to the Search box.
